--BACK TO SOUND DESIGN

Gem of the Ocean was a very creative show to be a part of. For my part I was the only student on this production while at my grad school, working with a team of professionals under the direction of the illustrious Chuck Smith. I work with an outside composer whose work it was my duty to help incorporate into the space. We added a dance to the City of Bones section and I was able to fill the space with effects and ambiences that really made that scene come to life. To the right are examples of ambiences and some transition drums that were used in between scenes and during intermission. The drums really helped to foreshadow and tell the story of Aunt Esters special magic.
